Miller, formally named Mill Grinds also codenamed "JoeyFatonestan", is a Sneedville military officer and prominent musician orginating from a tiny village in the nooked away dale between Sparkle Town and the great Equestrian lake, Lake Laze. Miller was born the year of 1965- the youngest into a well off seventh day adventist herd of earnest wheat harvesting earth ponies. His father, Wheatly Grinds; his mother, Orchid Grinds (maiden name Orchid Medley); and five elder siblings, being diligent farmhooves, were the hard working ponies of strong faith that shaped Miller into being one of Equestria's dedicated earth ponies at a green, tender age.

    Foalhood to Early Stallionhood

Even as a ten year old foal, when there was something to be done, no matter how small, Miller set about to get it done for the sake and love of his dear family. But Miller would struggle in his foalhood nontheless, as he turned out to be a late bloomer in getting his cutie mark— something that plagued him well into his teens. Everypony, excepting his familial herd, shunned him for his lack thereof, believing him to be cursed through the strange faith his family followed, as if he and his family's faith wasn't enough of a target for ridicule in and of itself. Therefore, subsequent in his attendance at school, Miller was subject to bullying for being an "unbelimished flank" —a clever knock at both his lack of cuite mark and his faith as a zealous seventh day adventist. The bullying Miller recieved only worsened as his elder siblings began to graduate from school and thus wouldn't be there to support him during school hours. This led Miller to become detached from everypony around him, even his family, though he still loved them and showed it in serving them as they served him— he just felt alienated and became a pony who wasn't one for conversation or sharing any inner turmoil. This unfortunate circumstance Miller found himself in would ironically be what delievered him unto his true special talent. For Miller's eighteenth birthday and graduation, his family would travel out to Buckingham to see his relatives on his mother's side for a weekend celebration: it was the first day of this short vacation that brought him to the start of his destiny's discovery. Miller was out and about on the streets amidst his own wandering, exploring Buckingham right before dawn for something to spend some bits on and before the day started and he went with his whole family for that day's plans, when he entered a music shop and soon heard his calling. Now, Miller has always been exceptional at playing the accoustic guitar and decent with various other instruments, even performing in his small town church music group —his mother was from a long line of musically gifted earth ponies after all— but he never thought music was actually related to his special talent, despite enjoying it thoroughly, because he had a green hoof that was truly superb— he thought himself to be a farming pony like his father. Evidentially though, he was wrong, as the store clerk spun up a vinyl record that played over the store's speakers, which immediately grabbed Miller's attention away from his browsing. It was a harsh, noisy kind of lightning fast, rapidly progressing metal music that briskly badgered the ear with highly distorted guitar and screeching vocals with an equally aggressive, yet contrasting, accompaniment of blasting drums that dominated interspersedly with a blazing pace at times. Tuning in, Miller, dragged by his ear like a fish caught hook in mouth, was reeled in by sheer intrigue to the checkout counter, and found through the clerk what exactly this music was, promptly purchasing a copy of the playing record and another from the same band— the recording artists being the grindcore band that called themselves "Mange Mane"; moreover, acknowledging this newfound adamantine interest, he spent the rest of his bits on a good quality six-string electric guitar and other trinkets necessary for its proper order.

    Stallionhood

It didn't take long for Miller to sort his skill out in the ways of extreme metal music, seeing as he used the pay from working hard on his father's farm to acquire a couple of amps and a myriad of guitar pedals that furthered his understanding and progression through experimentation. His intuition for comprehending and the transformative sonic translation within turning his metal music listening to playing his own twist on metal music wasn't merely the result of a wild series of happy accidents. Miller was sure that metal music was his special talent, and he proved correct just a month prior to his nineteenth birthday when he finally got his cutie mark: a depiction of a metal mill wheel set upon a circle of warped sonic waves. However, his style of music, being nothing short of abrasive, evoked a mild sense of disapproval from his father, Wheatly; although, Wheatly had no issue with Miller being a musical pony, seeing as he had married one, but the sheer aggression in Miller's musical stylings were as vexing as they were perplexing. The last thing Wheatly was wont to do was deride his son for being so dedicated to his calling in life, but he couldn't help himself with at least having some reservations as his son's personality began to blossom in sporadic ways like a bed of wild flowers during Spring. He felt conflicted: on one hoof, he had pride for his son opening up, but on the other hoof, he was unsure how he this would turn out because his son was not a foal anymore, he was his own fully grown stallion, and Wheatly knew an over bearing father was not a good one, especially for a fledgling stallion such as was his son. It didn't help that Miller would begin drastically changing his appearance either: a disheveled, unkempt mane, which flowed until it was only a hoof from the floor; a scruffy beard hugging his muzzle, which beforehoof Miller would always keep nicely shaved; and a bold wardrobe of military surplus fashion articles that Miller wore at any chance outside of work. Miller excitedly shared his future plans with his parents, explaining to them how he would attempt to break the mould as a lyrically outspoken seventh day adventist among a herd of nihilistic ponies, such ponies constituting much of the grindcore scene. Wheatly and Orchid were only furthered in their concern at the idea of their son surrounding himself with such a herd, not sure what sort of concessions these ponies would make their son come to regarding his faith, but they loved their son, and, instead of hindering him, decided to support him, yet strongly cautioning Miller to be smart with who he makes friends with. With earning a modicum of blessing from his parents, Miller began saving up bits until he eventually moved with a couple of music friends from his church group to stay with his grandmother on his mother's side in Buckingham. It was from there that Miller and his friends would set out under the band name "Churning in My Blood".
